Final Project
My Idea for my final project will be a web site that showcases the down town events. Instead of having to go to each bars individual site, why not combine them all into one easy, navigatible site. All bars specials could be posted, any popular bands that might be coming that night could be posted. Most importantly however, would be a spot where people can rate the bar, post pictures and leave comments. The websites target audience would be people from out of town, new students, or current college students who have just turned 21 and dont know much about the downtown lifestyle.
My second idea would be a website much like rate my professor.com. Only we wont be rating professors, but landlords. Weve all had a nightmare experience with a terrible nightmare, wouldnt it be nice if there was a website that could help you stay away from bad land lords. Comments and ratings will be the main focus of the site. All comments would be annoymus to encourage participation

Eva's Final Project Proposal
First of all, my 3 top websites are:
1.Yahoo
2.Facebook
3.Interpals (a place to connect to penpals/language exchange)
Second of all, my final project ideas:
I thought about either creating a website about pit bulls and the stigma around them. I would create sections describing history, breed specifics, news, testimonies, breed-specific legislation, as well as links to group-specific sites, youtube, twitter, and facebook.
My second idea is to do a blog-type site for college students (and anyone on a budget) for living cheaply, but well. I just started living on my own, so it would give me a first hand experience on living day to day with cooking choices, brand choices, nutritional data, and convenience of my choices.
I would prefer to do the website on the pit bulls, but I could go either way.
Final Story Idea
I would like to create a site directed toward in coming freshmen and college students on how to stay fit and eat right. I think everyone has heard of the freshman 15 and most students go through college trying to lose it through crash diets and other unhealthy habits. These methods of losing weight might be giving the quick and easy look now but may have long term damages to your body.
The site will include educational videos and sections where students can write/blog anonymously about their experiences. I also plan to use pictures and audio to enhance the importance of this message of staying healthy.

Multimedia Story
Who doesn't like to eat? It would be a good idea to incorporate technology to inform people about the different restaurant chains in Plattsburgh. My story will constitute of a breakdown of each eating place and they will be put into certain categories depending on the kind of food they serve. I will incorporate pictures, maps, directions, phone numbers, menu and maps. Best of all I can do a 5 star rating (by surveying and personal opinion) of each restaurant.
Final Multimedia Project Idea
For my multimedia project, I plan to create a website that will follow talk about all the upcoming and current televisions shows that will be airing this fall season. It will explain each show and its popularity. The way it will be formatted, is to talk and give my opinion about shows that I believe is worth watching as well as what people should be watching. I also plan to give a recap of certain important episodes for those that missed them. In addition, I plan on giving people my pick of the night as to what television show they should watch that day or during that week. I want to inform the people the good shows that are missing out of watching and give them a sense of guidance as to what to watch when they are bored and want to watch something.
Multimedia Story Idea
My multimedia story idea is to show how the use of technology is helping college students stay connected to family, and friends. My story is going to explain what technology is being used to communicate, such as: cell phones, unlimited text-message plans, e-mail, Facebook and Skype. Next I am going to answer questions such as “Why is it so easy to communicate?” and “How has the technology changed from when our parents were in school?” A good way to show this information that I’ve gathered would be a PowerPoint presentation with text explaining the example, and I would also include photos relating to technology and an average college student. This way people will have both a visual and audio explanation. I believe that these new innovations have completely revolutionized our generation and how we communicate, hopefully they will push us to success and not failure.
Multimedia Story Idea
My technology-based story will revolve around giving an objective overview and rating of the myriad of different web browsers available.
The general population of internet users utilize whichever internet browser comes standard with their computer, such as Internet Explorer for Windows users. Those slightly more tech savvy might download Google Chrome or Firefox, but do little research beyond that to find a internet browser which is truly best suited for them.
My story will review as many different internet browsers as possible, from popular choices such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Google Chrome, as well as less mainstream choices, such as Opera, Avant Internet Explorer, Flack, Maxathon, and many others. They will include ratings of speed, aesthetics, add-ons, customization, etc.
This is very important, for the readers, because there aren't many objective tests on which browser is best for what. Most reviews of internet browsers are by big companies, which could easily be influenced by companies who generally ignore smaller browsers, or by users on forums, or on their blogs, who have a strong bias to the browser they have, and haven't taken the time to test out all the other browsers. This will also give a good idea of what browser is best for what user. One browser may be good for someone who just casually browses, while another browser would be well suited for avid gamers.
I would use mostly text and photos for the article, the photos would generally be a screenshot of the browser in action, maybe of download speed tests for the browser, and of the browser icon. A slideshow may work as well near the end to go through the ratings and screenshots, but a simple text/picture combination would be effective and aesthetically pleasing. Some videos may be included of the browser at work, but it's still questionable whether it should be used or not.

Joe Furnari - Final Project
I would like to create a site about local bands, concerts, and performances in the upstate New York region; most specifically focus on the Plattsburgh-Burlington area. This website will be uniquely-tailored for a younger audience; however, although focused on the upstate region, it will also include information about bands around other parts of New York State and Vermont. Dates of local shows will be posted; bios and profiles of musicians in the area will be available, in addition to festivals and concert announcements. One reason that this website will be unique and significant is that it will feature both local and regional announcements and information relating to the music-scene. If you are an individual who enjoys listening to music and discovering new bands, this will be the site for you. Viewers will be able to learn about bands in the area, look up date’s for local shows, and learn a little more background about how some of their favorite musicians got started and where they came from. Since music is my main focus, a few of the multimedia tools that I will utilize include (but are not limited to) sample audio clips as well as full-length songs, video footage of local bands’ performances, concerts and shows, a photo slideshow of different groups in the area, and podcasts of local bands. The text on the website will be concise, accurate, and informative. I plan on making my web page more visually-appealing with photos and video content, as opposed to text alone.
Kyle Dunn Online site for sports talk
I talked with Jim Simonetti about the recent major league sports which might face black out areas. I want to create a site where people with questions could go to and find an answer as to why this is happening. I could create sites to ESPN and other major sports sites to help direct people to there questions. Then i would post videos of discussions by experts of the sports and written columns. I'm really interested to create this site because I am a huge fan of sports. Go Longhorns!
Final Multimedia Project
When I first thought about this assignment and how we are supposed to incorporate technology into the presentation, I thought of the literal term "technology" and how it is changing all the time. For my final project, I thought a cool idea for it would be about new inventions people are creating in our time. Lately, I've seen a lot of different gadgets and things that can make everyday tasks simpler or even just more interesting, such as a handle for an aluminum can so your hand doesn't transfer heat to it. Within my research, I'd like to gather photos and videos to show an example of a number of inventions and how they can be used. I also would like to do a couple of interviews to find out if others have heard of the new technologies or if they have a unique idea themself. I think this would be a good idea for a multimedia project because in my generation, things are changing and they are changing quick; the question my project could asnwer is, "what could be next?"
Final Project
For my final project I would like to do a website on the top high school basketball players in the country, and possibly the upstate-New York area. The site would include the current top 100 rankings, as well as detailed profiles on all the top players. The site would also include current news on all the prospects such as injuries or commitments, and coverage of all the high level games. If possible, a blog by one of the top players would be kept on the site. The site would also include photos, video, and podcasts.

Multimedia Story Idea
For this project, I would like to do a piece on activities to do outside of Plattsburgh that will entertain students. Many of us know there isn’t much to do here and a website to show all the fun places and things to do outside the area will be a convenient way of finding out different things to do on the weekend. Other people can add places they have been to as well as comment on the places listed for a variety of opinions. I will use photos of the different places and use text as well as videos. I hope this will be important and useful to readers and will help answer the frequently asked question, what should we do this weekend?
Erica's Story Idea
I would like to create a site about cooking that offers tutorials and recipes. I know that there are many sites on the internet tailored this way but although I am not a vegetarian, I tend to make dishes that do not include meat. I would like to offer recipes that can be made with meat or without. I believe this site will be useful for mothers and fathers, as well as college students living off campus. I plan to use pictures, audio, and video.
Multimedia Story Idea (Aude)
For this project, I'd like to run a story about the Smooth Moves.
Since it moved to its new location downtown, the coffee shop has become THE hang-out place for SUNY Plattsburgh and Clinton Community College students.
I think such a website would be of interest to current students as well as prospective students researching Plattsburgh and Plattsburgh State.
I will probably use text, photos, interview (of the owner as well as of the clients), videos (if possible), music… In terms of content, I don't know yet… I need to do some more research first.

Jim Simonetti online magazine idea.
1. Talk about the upcoming labor disputes in many of the major league sports and things being done to prevent it.
2. What would make it different is that it would cover all the sports on the same site, instead of having to go to different links on espn and finding the specific article.
3/4. I would use videos and post articles from sports reporters also use pictures to help keep people updated on the story.
Nirchi Story idea
Courts have ruled that it is no longer a requirement to get a search warrent in order to track American cell phones.
This story is unique in that it shows possible Orwellien trends in use of media technology.
the multimedia tools can be used to show the myrid of diffrent places where technology can be used for a harmful or invasive purpose instead of its origonally intended purpose.

Final Project Idea
Since I was a little boy I have always loved fishing. To this day my mother still has a picture of the first fish I have ever caught. A lot of my friends love fishing as well, and since my arrival in Plattsburgh, I have been on a hunt for the greatest fresh water fishing ever. A good friend of mine and myself go behind campus and go fishing almost every chance we get and we do pretty well. The Saranac River and Lake Champlian have a lot of great fishing to offer but there are definitely people who know more about this river and lake and where to catch the big one! I want to start a website where anglers can talk about and share information about the Saranac River and Lake Champlian and the fish that live in there. There are a lot of people who would like to get out there and have fun but either don't know what they are doing or where they should go. Through this website I hope to share and learn about the great fishing here in Plattsburgh with everyone and anyone willing to share there stories and information! Good Luck and Good Fishing!
Final Project Idea "Movies"
I find that most people are either misinformed or just merely uniformed about movies now a days. When you are deciding wether to go to the movies or not and which movie you should see, what is the first thing that someone always says, "oh i heard that one was good". we live in a country where hearsay is almost as valuable as the truth. well i am going to change that with a website dedicated to giving fast accurate reviews of movies that are done with the correct audience in mind. how many times have you read a professional review in the paper that gave a movie 2 stars and a horrible review and you went out and saw the movie and loved it? probably at least a couple times. the reason professional reviewers do that so often is because they lose touch with why people go to the movies.. to have fun! if your a bleeding heart romantic, your not going to appreciate "Live Free Die Hard" your going to go see "Dear John" and vice versa. i want to create a forum where i give my own reviews of movies but also allow others to give their own review of the same movies as well. because just like beauty is in the eye of the beholder every person has a different perspective and they should be able to express them to a mass audience. i will use many multimedia forms to emphasize each movie. such as pictures and clips/ movie trailers/interviews/ and video reviews. Possibly even sound bytes. my goal is to create a website for college kids to go to for accurate reviews of movies from their peers. furthermore after they have seen said movie a place where they can return and post their feedback to help others decide the big question... what movie should we see tonight??

Multimedia Story Idea
I find that meditation and relaxation techniques are a tremendous help to the average college student and would like to reach out to this demographic by showing students how to cope with the stresses of everyday live with these techniques via multimedia tools.
I believe that this idea is going to be unique and significant for relieving stress from ones life is essential to help one grow as a person. The techniques that I will cover will be beneficial as well as unique giving the demographic new ways to cope. The main question I hope to answer : What techniques can help one live a fulfilled stress-free life?
Using multimedia tools is the best solution for this idea for my demographic (college students) is tech savvy and posting different forms of media such as videos, text, photos, quotes, music, podcasts on the internet is the most accessible way for my readers to obtain the information. Also giving my readers different forms of communication to cover my topic with help the readers grasp what I am trying to say more effectively.
As stated before I plan to gather text, photos, music, podcasts, slideshows, quotes and many interviews to answer my question.

Story Idea
I find the rapid growth of technology interesting and more importantly, how it has been tailored fit specific demographics and age groups while still eluding the minds of an grandparents or less knowledgeble individuals who have reached out to the younger, maybe even professional individual to gain access to tools of social media such as the internet, mp3's, and online databases, etc.
I think this story idea will be unique and significant because I will relate how much of the older demographic (after the age of 50) is actually being benefited through new agents of technology such as smart phones, personal websites, and financial monitoring tools, etc. How accessible are these tools if this demographic has to look to others to be able to fully utilize the benefits of a technology based society? What limitations are posed by this shift? What opinions are being formed about this rapidly technological advancing stage? I mean come on even facebook is changing its interface everyday, so we all have to keep up.
I will bring together a slide show, interviews, get some photos, look up different tools that make technological accessibility easier for an older generation, and maybe even a video to depict the struggle or even the ease at which some people find that technology benefits their life and how it has helped them in their careers and roles in everyday life.
